Bodhisattwa Gautam Vs Miss Subhra Chakraborty on  15 December, 1995

     Bodhisattwa had persuaded a women to have sexual intercourse with him on the promise of marriage. 

      The court held that offences like rape were crimes against the  person’s most basic cherished human right, namely the right to leave.

The court directed the appellant to pay interim maintenance of Rs. 1000 per month.
